Can a heart, once broken, heal enough to love again?
Kerrianne Huntington's perfect life was shattered one seemingly ordinary morning
when her husband was killed in a car accident. Now, four years later, she still
struggles with picking up the pieces. Being a single mother of three active
children keeps her plenty busy, but she can't help the loneliness that tears at
Then, on an other ordinary day, she discovers Ryan Oakman, a widower with two
children of his own. Ryan has many talents, including making Kerrianne's hands
suddenly develop ten thumbs, and he never fails to catch her at the most
embarrassing moments. For years Ryan has delivered her mail and has been an
unwitting guardian of her sanity; now his new involvement in her life forces her
to look beyond her loss toward a future she hadn't considered possible. Can a
woman love a man with the same heart that still mourns another? Or does she have to
By Morning Light is a poignant, often humorous tale of love and friendship that
opens a world we are rarely able experience so intimately. A thoroughly
satisfying addition to the Huntington family novels, it can be read alone or
enjoyed as part of the larger family saga.
What Others Are Saying
This was the first Huntington book I read. Yeah, I started from the end. It so far has been probably the most touching of all the books I've read. Though I will say I'm curious more about Adam and Laurie. But oh well. Though I have to say I'm not sure I'd remarry if my husband died (I'm not married right now), I'm glad that Rachel had Kerrianne remarry. I cried near the end when Kerrianne had the little dream with Adam telling her to marry Ryan. Though it was sort of perdictable that it would happen, it still brought tears to my eyes.
I am considered a one of the biggest readers in my school. I've been reading Rachel's books sincce 6th grade and I am now a sophomore. I have read all of Rachel's books TONZ of times and I can't wait to read some more!

This is the first book of yours that I have read. I absolutely loved it. I read the book in two days and found myself wanting to hear more of their story. You are a beautiful writer. I love when I find a book that I cant put down and that doesn't happen very often so thank you!

This is a novel that has haunted me a great deal
this past two years as I wrote the first of the Huntington family novels, Winter
Fire, which was about Kerrianne's younger sister. In that book Kerrianne's
husband, Adam, dies, and I knew then that I would be writing, more about her one
day. As I wrote the middle two novels about Kerrianne's brothers, Mitch and
Tyler, I admit that I was anxiously awaiting the day when I could discover the
ending of Kerrianne's story. I couldn't just leave her lost and alone! As I
finally delved into the actual writing, I felt a fascination I can't explain. Perhaps it was
because I kept thinking of how I would feel if my husband, who is as much a part
of me as the air that I breathe, had been taken from me.
four women who had lost their husbands and who
later remarried, and they agreed to be interviewed to share their feelings.
Interestingly enough, I found their emotions and experiences were all very
similar, and akin to anyone who has lost a loved one. I believe their influence
helped me find an authentic voice in my pretend world, one that will make the
story feel true. Writing a happy ending is
sometimes what helps me, and hopefully others, heal. All of these experiences make me
appreciate friendships and the time we have left here on earth to show what kind
of people we'll becomeand especially how we react to the challenges thrown our

worst day of her life. Funny thing was, it was supposed to have been one (more...)
